With reference to Colonial Office letter
No. 20627/24 of the 12th May last, relating to the
remuneration of the Chief Justice of Hongkong for
serving as a member of the proposed Court of Appeal
at Shanghai, I am directed by Mr •
Secretary Ramsay
MacDonald to transmit to you, herewith, a copy of the
draft China Order in Council, 1924.

I am to draw special attention to articles
22 and 23 of the draft Order in Council, dealing with
the composition of the Full Court, and to part VII
dealing with companies and also to the second paragraph
of article 2.
3.
The Secretary of State will be glad to
learn whether the draft Order in Council meets with the
concurrence of Mr. Secretary Thomas.
